I've been wanting to do this for a while. February is Dilla Month for SHHODU. Stay tuned.
Tony’s Still Got It
Don’t think I’ve ever seen him work the lip that much. Ever. Say whatever you want and try to be cool, if you skated back in like 2001, it was because of Tony. I was one of the only kids my age trying to ride vert/skate minis. Glad to see him stil ripping it.
Splooge Experience – Flight Jackets
What happens when you’re together with your best friends and you turn a joke into something real? You get Splooge Experience. Over Thanksgiving break, me and a couple of my buddies were at TuanAnh’s storage unit (AKA The Green) and were jamming out and drinking and just having a good time. Someone decided that it’d be a good idea if we took some of our inside jokes (and we have many) and turn them into joke songs. We all agreed to come back and do it over Christmas break. Now, I didn’t think this would actually happen, but last month after many, many beers we put together the hottest mixtape ever made. This is the first leak, “Flight Jackets”. It’s a street anthem for all the real niggas out there still rocking their flight jackets. Enjoy.
2 Nights and a Wet Dream coming soon.
This With The Windows Down Kind Of Day: Black Star – Little Brother (With The Roots) (Live on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon)
This is one of my all time favorite songs and one of the best crafted hip-hop beats ever. Dilla chopped up 1 sec chops of a Roy Ayers record 32 times! Again, he was the best ever (IMO). And to top it off, The Roots backed Black Star last night to perform it live. Amazing.
SHHO: Love
SHHO x Hypebeast: A Conversation With Christian Clancy
SHHO kicks off our new partnership with Hypebeast with a conversation with Odd Future’s manager Christian Clancy. Stoked on what’s to come from this.
?uestlove
So tomorrow, Questlove from one of the greatest bands ever, The Roots, is coming into VA Beach for a DJ set. This is a HUGE deal for me because I’m not only a huge Roots fan, but a huge fan of Questo as well. True story: I had of Quest on my wall in the 4th grade cause I thought he was so dope. It’s not until I got older though that I realized how musically inclined he is outside of the drums. He has a tremendous love for hip-hop, just like I do, so I’m stoked to see what his set list is going to be like tomorrow. And on top of that, Doddie and the man who made me want to start DJing a very long time ago, DJ Bee, are doing opening sets. Huge thanks to my big homies Noah Larmz, C’Mon & Quiva Productions for putting this one together. Cannot wait to get off of work tomorrow and go to this.
